Baghdad Space Sharing

AlterNet's Deanna Zandt met with the Alterazioni Video Collective at Location 1 in Manhattan to find out how they set up portals around Baghdad to collect video. Their exhibit, Baghdad Space Sharing, uses an interactive map of the city to show its viewers the everyday life in a city torn by war.

Description:

The US military has found their weapon of choice. Depleted uranium slices through tanks and other heavy metals with ease. The problem? Soldiers returning from the Gulf Wars are complaining of "unexplained" illnesses, their children have higher rates of birth defects, and large numbers of Iraqis cite the same effects. The International Action Center is one of many groups that are working to prove the harmful effects of DU and stop its use in warfare.
