The Mesopotamian Marshes in southern Iraq have been called the birthplace of civilization. This precious area has been heavily impacted by the past 25 years of conflict in Iraq. Truthout's Chris Hume talks with Azzam Alwash, the director of the Eden Again project, about his work in restoring the Marshes to their original vibrabancy.
