MALIK RAHIM lives in Algiers Point in New Orleans. In the aftermath of the hurricane, when relief efforts failed, Rahim helped form the Common Ground Collective to help those in need. He's also helped form Rebuild Green which is a group promoting solar energy, green building techniques, urban gardens, and other environmentally friendly ways of rebuilding New Orleans.

DAMU SMITH is a longtime peaceworker and activist. Damu has fought on behalf of many causes, from civil rights, to protecting the environment, to ending war. Recently, Smith founded Black Voices for Peace and helped form the National Black Environmental Justice Network of which he is currently the executive director Mr. Smith has been diagnosed with cancer and needs your help. Eliminate racism and classism in your neighborhood, city, and state. In your workplace, place of worship, at your gym, in the stores you shop at, at your kids' schools. In your home.
